There are 3 main types of ID management systems:

Create new account for every service, new account for mail, new account for instagram, new account for spotify, etc.
Google, when I use my google account to log into third party services
Digital wallet, that contains all your info, which is only owned by you (via blockchain)
FIM (Federal Identity Management) → Identity and Entitlements made portable
Federated Identity → Linking a persons electronic identity and attributes across multiple FIMs
SSO (Single Sign-On) → Is a subset of FIM and uses Federated ID to authenticate you across multiple services
